The forced closure of vaping shops during the lockdown meant that smokers were unable to access advice, products and help to quit smoking.

This, combined with significant cuts in smoking services across the UK, means smokers across the region and across the country have not been able to get the help they need to quit. for real.

VPZ is now seeing record demand from smokers seeking expert advice and one-on-one support to help them make the transition

Doug Mutter, Director of VPZ, said Lanarkshire Live : “After the lockdown we expected to see an increase in the number of smokers seeking help and advice, but the scale and demand here at Airdrie and in our store network has been enormous.

“We recognize more than ever the need for an improved level of service and support that our customers need after lockdown. “

Recent data from VPZ has shown that smoking rates have increased but, more worryingly, the amount of cigarettes smokers consume has also increased.

Doug continued, “The vast reduction in NHS tobacco control services, thanks to COVID-19 and cuts by local authorities, has been devastating in the country’s efforts to reduce smoking rates.

“Our specialists are trained and have in-depth knowledge, providing our clients with a dedicated one-on-one consultation to help smokers begin their quitting journey.

“They respond to customer needs, give them expert advice and access to quality vaping products that have proven to be the most effective way to quit smoking.

“Our customers keep telling us that this personalized service sets us apart from other smoking cessation options and we are committed to helping more people make the switch to support the UK in its ambitions to become smoke-free. here 2030. “
