Subway smoking ban bill under review at Metro Board meeting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A bill banning smoking and the use of vapor products in all establishments in Davidson County is due for second reading on Tuesday.

Currently in Davidson County, Title 10 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws prohibits smoking and the use of vapor products in certain age-restricted locations. This means that customers cannot smoke in any establishment that restricts access to people aged 21 or over. The bill under consideration would change this to apply to all establishments, regardless of age restrictions.

If the bill passes and someone is caught smoking, they will have to pay a maximum fine of $50.

The bill will pass its third and final reading if it passes Tuesday’s meeting.
