Shop thieves carry out two cigarette thefts in twenty minutes in Wollaton
Detectives are investigating two cigarette thefts that occurred within 20 minutes.
Police released a picture of a man they want to talk to.
Around £ 575 worth of cigarettes were taken from a shop in Bramcote Lane, Wollaton, around 3:50 p.m. on Wednesday 5 May.
It is believed that a man distracted a security guard while two other men fled with the goods.
Then at 4:10 p.m. a man walked into a store in Queens Road, Beeston, asked for spirits and tobacco behind the counter, and left without paying for the items.
Detective Sergeant Chris Berryman, Nottinghamshire Criminal Investigation Department, said: âWe believe these two incidents are related and are progressing well in our investigations.
âWe will not tolerate these offenses of theft by distraction and will do everything in our power to locate these offenders.
âWe think we are looking for two men. One of them was wearing a black cap, a black hoodie and gray sweatpants. The other was wearing a black polo shirt, black skinny jeans and white shoes. He also had short, dark hair.
“If anyone recognizes the man in the picture or has any information that could assist with the investigation, please contact us as soon as possible.”
