Potawatomi Hotel & Casino lifting numerous COVID-19 protocols, including masks for fully vaccinated
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Potawatomi Hotel & Casino has announced the lifting of several of its COVID-19 protocols as of Tuesday, June 1. The changes coincide with the lifting of the Sanitary Order and the Mask Ordinance by the City of Milwaukee on the same day.
“As vaccinations continue to be administered and infection rates decline in the region, we are following the lead of health experts and local leaders in lifting some of the COVID-19 protocols we have since had in place. almost a year, ”said Sheryl Schnering, CEO / Interim Managing Director of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. “This is a positive step towards returning to pre-pandemic operational levels.”
According to a press release, effective June 1, the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino will end its mask requirement for fully vaccinated guests. They encourage unvaccinated guests to continue to wear masks for their health and safety and that of unvaccinated people around them. Members of the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino team will continue to wear masks.
Customers will also find that they no longer have to submit to temperature checks or COVID-related questions upon entering the building.
Despite the lifting of these protocols, the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino will remain a smoke-free establishment. Guests are welcome to use the designated outdoor smoking area near the Northern Lights Theater or near the entrances.
The casino will also increase the number of operating slots from 50 to 100 percent starting June 1. Bingo, table games and other gaming equipment will remain closed at this point. Restaurants will remain take-out only, with dining areas available to customers inside the casino. These areas will reopen when they have reached sufficient numbers.
