Great opportunity for young people

Young people who want to lead the way in the space of youth events and activities in Wodonga are welcome to join the Wodonga FReeZA Youth Program.

If you are between 12 and 25 years old and want to organize great events for young people, go to Hyphen – Wodonga Library Gallery’s Community Studio on Friday, May 27, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The event includes free pizza, great music and information about joining the Wodonga FReeZA youth program.

Wodonga council youth officer Janet Banda said the program allows members to work together to create and run events in Wodonga for other young people.

“A lot of people felt disconnected during the height of COVD and it’s a great way to recreate those connections,” she said.

“The youth program aims to bring people together and get involved to pave the way for an even more active and dynamic youth space in our city.

“Young people involved will learn skills in areas such as event planning, organization and teamwork as they work together to create and design events.”

With support from the Wodonga Board, the Wodonga FReeZA Youth Program will plan and deliver fun and engaging youth-focused events, including one major event, per year.

Janet encourages parents and guardians to talk to the young people in their lives.

“It would look great on their resume and help expand their network,” she said.

“We look forward to meeting and working with the next round of young members. »

FReeZA is a Victorian Government initiative that helps young Victorians get involved in their community by planning and running drug, alcohol and smoke free events for young people.
