2022 PGA Championship: Somehow the funniest cigarette story of the week doesn’t involve John Daly | This is the loop
On Saturday morning, South African journeyman Shaun Norris was thrust into the PGA Championship spotlight when he was paired with an ailing Tiger Woods at Southern Hills. In tough conditions with half Oklahoma watching, Norris fought his way to a four of 74, good for T60 at the time of writing. Despite the difficulties, however, Norris and the caddy both came away delighted from a weekend at a major tournament with the Big Cat.
Lovely stuff, sure, but those scenes were nothing compared to what would have unfolded after Norris’ second round on Friday. Watch out, Daley. You might finally have some competition.
Hilarious stuff, but something tells us Norris wasn’t laughing. The man loves nothing more than furiously ripping butts between hits, as evidenced by his inspired Smoke Wagon performance on Saturday.
Can you imagine if this man’s caddy lost his lighter just before the biggest round of his life? Hell has no fury. Can you imagine if said caddy was canned 12 hours before heading off with the greatest athlete his sport has ever seen? Potentially soul crushing. Luckily, an eagle-eyed fan was there to save the day…or dart so to speak.
